Chemical Engineering

Diploma in Chemical Engineering is a 2-year professional program focused on three aspects of Research, Production and Designing. The program offers an understanding of the concepts through theoretical and practical approach both. Students are put through various studies and investigations throughout the course duration. The course entails study of the subjects like basic chemical engineering, applied chemistry, material, mechanical operations, technology, chemical hazards, etc. The Diploma course is a well-structured program laid out in modules and students major in one of the mentioned aspects in the final module. On career front, Research jobs are confined to study and analysis to develop or design products and processes corresponding to economics and safety. Production jobs have a large base in the fields like industries, refineries and pharmaceutical companies. Designing jobs are concerned to procurement and construction related companies. As for sectors, both the private and government organisations have relevant work force requirement.

A candidate is required to have completed senior school or equivalent level of examination in Science stream with a minimum 50% score from a recognized board to be eligible for the program. Admission to the course is based on merit and a no. of institutes conduct an exam as an additional eligibility criterion.
