Food Processing

Diploma in Food Processing is a 1-year skill-based program curated for individuals to understand and learn the technicalities that revolve around food and its effective application of knowledge and skill to produce valuable food from raw sources.

The diploma course introduces to varied methods including conservation, packaging and distribution of food in immense volume. The program is flexible in its content, depending upon norms and guidelines to be meet as per authorized faculty or department. Concepts in the course are detailed and involves practice wherein major conceptual inclusions are food science fundamentals, food processing methods, food formula, food preservation techniques, food quality control, microbiology, food packaging, logistics, etc.

Students are required to demonstrate in labs through learning sessions and equipment handling. Aspirants are awarded and acknowledged certification post successful clearance of assessments. Individuals can dig in deep through work opportunities in food processing organizations, research organizations and other food related outlets.

Admission to the program is based on merit. A no. of institutes conducts an entrance exam followed by an interview as an additional eligibility criterion. Minimum eligibility – A candidate must have cleared senior level in any stream or equivalent from a recognized board.
